The Opening Ceremonies for the 2014 Paralympics took place last night before thousands of spectators, mostly Russians. Ric and I sat 11 rows from the top but had a great view and got the full effect of the artistic displays. We shared the experience with the families of Josh Pauls, #27, and Tyler Caron, #11. The entertainment was spectacular and definitely outdid Torino and Vancouver. Hearing Vladimir Putin speak to open the Games was definitely surreal in light of the situation with the Ukraine.

Taylor Chace is among the 14 "names to know" at the 2014 Sochi Paralympic Games according to the International Paralympic Committee. He is in good company. His teammates, Steve Cash and Josh Pauls are "names to know" as well. Not coincidentally Paralympic skiier, Tyler Walker, made the list, a former UNH graduate and skier who gained great support from Northeast Passage at UNH where Chace now coaches and trains athletes with disabilities.
